Designed by: Chris Keefe of Organicforms Design, LLC

Description
This beautiful bungalow style home is perfect for those looking to get out of the rat race by downsizing into something that is super efficient and cost effective. This is a perfect example of space-smart design in which every space has a use and is essential to the overall flow of the home. This home is perfect for a couple or smaller families with one child or two that can share the loft bedroom space.
This design is about getting back to the basics. Back to when housing was about life and living, and not so much about the status quo. That said, this home isn’t rustic or primitive and has accounted for all of the conveniences that we are used to in our society. You’ll find elegance and function married in such a way as to provide the perfect scale for the modern and environmentally conscious family.

Rustic Family
June 30, 2011
Plan Number: ck-200
Designed by: Chris Keefe of Organicforms Design, LLC
Description
“Rustic Family” was inspired by a family of four that wanted a large open kitchen/living room with a central hearth, an vaulted ceiling with a open air cupola, and a sunroom to watch the sun set over the hillside beyond. It also features a “Kids Wing”. This is a wing of the house with two bedrooms and a family room. The other side of the house has the master suite with his and hers closets and a full bathroom. There is also a third bedroom that can also be used as an office.
The rustic feel comes from the rough sawn outer posts and beams that create 4 porches and patios all around the house, and from the exposed rafter tails that promotes a down home feel of simple living. The open porches provide great sheltered outdoor spaces for entertaining guests in the warmer months of the year. The home is designed with a slab foundation but could be modified with a framed floor if necessary.
